Change Text in Image: Font and Background Matching

Replacing words should leave the image recognizable. The edit aims to match the existing lettering and repair the area behind it, while keeping the subject and composition.

Match the lettering

Change Text in Image considers letter shape, weight, size, spacing, color, and perspective. A short replacement close to the original length is easier to fit. Exact typeface identification is not guaranteed, especially in small or compressed images.

Rebuild the background

The repaired area is designed to blend with the surrounding texture. Plain walls and flat colors are easier than fabric, foliage, or intricate artwork. Inspect the edges of each letter for traces and changed detail.

Keep your full-resolution source

Upload your full-resolution source to Change Text in Image; there is no need to shrink it first. Exported dimensions may differ with the editing model. Compare both images at full size before printing or publishing.

Work in your browser

You do not need to install Photoshop or find a matching font file to try an edit. Keep your original file so you can compare results and return to manual retouching if needed.

Edit Text in a Screenshot

Use Change Text in Image to update wording in your own app mockups, tutorial images, or presentation captures. This text in image editor works on image pixels, so it does not change the underlying app or document. To edit text in screenshot images with repeated labels, select the target area and enter the original words exactly. Check small type and nearby interface elements afterward.

Change Text in Image Without Photoshop

Change Text in Image runs in your browser without a desktop editor. Upload your source, mark the lettering, and type the new words. When you edit photo text on curved packaging or a busy background, allow time to inspect and retouch the result.

Change Text in Image FAQ

Font matching, formats, credits, and permission to edit.

Will the new text match the original font?

The edit aims to match the original letter shape, weight, spacing, color, and perspective. An exact font match is not guaranteed. Short, clear printed words are easier to replace than tiny or decorative lettering; inspect the result at full size.

Can I change text in a screenshot?

Yes, for screenshots you own or have permission to modify, such as your own mockups or tutorial images. Select the target lettering and enter the replacement. Small text, repeated labels, and compressed images can be less reliable.

Does it work on handwritten or stylized text?

Results are limited for handwriting, calligraphy, and stylized lettering. Unusual shapes, low contrast, and complex backgrounds may leave traces or produce a poor match. You may need manual retouching.

Which image formats are supported?

Upload one JPG, PNG, WebP, or AVIF image, up to 25 MB. The tool processes one image per edit.

What happens when my free credits run out?

Guest Mode provides 5 free credits per month, and each edit uses 5 credits. Wait for the monthly reset, or register and upgrade to a paid plan for more credits. No registration is required for the guest trial.

Will the rest of my photo change?

The edit aims to preserve the subject, composition, and image quality while replacing the selected words. It is not pixel-identical: nearby details, colors, or textures can change, and exported dimensions may differ. Compare the result with your original before using it.

Can I use the result commercially?

Yes, provided you own the necessary rights to the original image and its contents, or have permission for that use. Changing text does not grant a license to someone else’s work.

Is it legal to edit text in an image?

Only edit images you own or are authorized to modify. Do not alter evidence, identity documents, or other materials to mislead anyone. Permission to edit an image does not remove your responsibility for how you use it.
